Mourning Over

So tomorrow will be a week since my beloved Peyton Manning and the Colts failed to win the Super Bowl. Strange thing is, I think this is the quickest I've recovered from them being knocked out of the play-offs. You would think that since they made it all the way to the big game before losing that it would be even harder to get over. Maybe I finally managed to not totally invest myself emotionally in their season. It was just weird watching the game and not ever feeling confident that they would win. It's like I expected them to lose, like I already knew what the outcome would be. Even when they had the lead I never felt comfortable. O well. Spring football is fast approaching and we'll get to see the new Hokies in action.

I watched bits and pieces of the Duke v UNC game this past week and kept thinking about how talented UNC is. Sure, they are too young and immature to meet expectations, but they should be winning more games. It all comes down to lack of leadership and negative momentum, both of which they are suffering from. The good news? They remind me of Georgetown a year ago. The Hoyas collapsed the last part of the season even though they had plenty of talent. It was the lack of chemistry, no true leaders, and negative momentum that did them in. This year is a different story, and they are playing like a legit final four contender. Just stay positive UNC.

In keeping with the complaining about snow, how is it that it's snowing in the Deep South? Seriously, snow in Charleston? Yikes.
